Nick Pawliuk

I have been involved in the fitness industry since 2010 and have been around high-performance athletics and sports my entire life. I have played almost every sport under the sun, with some at elite levels including basketball for Team British Columbia and currently a 4-time National level Olympic Weightlifter.

My Story

I started my post-secondary education at the University of Alberta where after 3 years of Biochemistry I transferred into the Kinesiology program. While completing my formal education, I started out as a trainer at a commercial gym. I have attended and continue to attend numerous courses, clinics, and workshops to improve my craft and services provided to my clientele because in the fitness industry there is always something to more learn and explore. My specialities include coaching Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, and general fitness. Starting out in a commercial gym setting exposed me to an extremely broad range of people with varying levels of fitness goals. I have worked with people just starting out on their fitness journey to International-level Olympic weightlifters and National Champion powerlifters.

I believe my role as a trainer/coach is to ultimately work myself out of a job giving the people the tools necessary to become independent on their fitness/athletic endeavors. The most important bit of fitness advice I give to people is being consistent. A consistent effort will yield results. A quote from Jim Watkins describes this very well: “a river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence.”
